NEHLnextgen rules
*A "Keeper" league means all transactions made by you carry over from season to season like the NEHLPC legue.
League name:
NEHLnextgen
15 year PC league goes nextgen console!
As of NHL13 there is no easy way for the Commish to move entire rosters freely between teams so the NEHLnextgen will be a "modified" *keeper league until the situation changes.
Important note:
Once the Commish has the ability to move players freely from team to team (such as a fantasy draft feature etc) the league will immediately become a full featured "keeper" league like the NEHLPC. So make trades wisely cause players you trade away may indeed become permanent changes the next season.
"Modified" keeper league (This is subject to change before the start of each season)
Before the start of each new year you will be asked to protect 5 players and one prospect (any player aged 24 and under) from your current next gen roster. These players are guaranteed to start on your roster for the coming season (You may not protect a player who has become a free agent) you then inherit your teams latest NHL roster and any changes made in the real NHL over the last season. All unprotected players traded during the last NEHLnextgen season will "snap back" to the teams they belong on in the real NHL. Reminder don't forget players you traded during the previous season may be protected by their new owners.
Conference set up
I would suggest European owners pick teams in the Eastern conference and North American owners
select teams in the Western conference but it isn't mandatory.
North American vs European games are probably best scheduled on weekends as there is more time available to each owner. You can schedule games out of order so it makes it that much easier.
Western North American owners are advised to take a team in a division with mostly North American owners to avoid playing europen owners as much as possible. Kyle has informed me that Western based owners do experience some lag from time to time against european based owners. As an Eastern North American owner I can safely say games against european owners will be mostly lag free.

Waivers
Waivers have been disabled due to the erratic nature of how they work in NHL13.
If we can figure out a work around to get this working properly we will enable it again.
Minor league team
You are free to call up and send down players to your farm team as needed
You may not have any players on your farm team with a salary of more than $1,000,000 by February 1st
on the in-game league calandar.
If for any reason you have a player placed on your AHL farm team with a salary of more than $1,000,000
you must bring him up to your NHL roster or you will lose him. If for some reason you don't have room on
your NHL roster you must make room by either bringing him up to the main roster or trading him.
Free Agency
If you lose a player to free Agency there is no recourse but to try and resign him along with the rest of the league or lose him. Just as a real GM has to deal with these issues.
You may only sign a free agent up to the number of years he is looking for. You can't offer more. The rest of the negotiations is up to you.
CPU Trading
You may only complete one CPU trade per week. Doesn't matter if it was initiated by you or the CPU owner.
You may trade for, or recieve back players in trades with CPU teams aged 25 to 34 only.
This also includes trade offers from CPU owners. You may not trade draft picks or recieve draft picks
from CPU owners. If a trade involves players younger than 25 or older than 34, or there are draft picks involved you must decline the offer. There is no trade vote on CPU/Human offers but in rare cases the Commish may intervene and over rule the transaction.
Human/Human trading
You may trade a 1st, second or third round 2013 pick or your 1st round 2014 pick.
(Draft picks work exactly as they do in NEHLPC -Please ask the Commish for more info on how we determine what players turn into which draft picks each year)
Trade votes:
Trade votes will only take place on a human to human offer if there are players aged 24 and under, 35 and over, or if draft picks are involved. Otherwise no trade vote will be needed. Post your trade needing a vote in the NEHLPC "Trade Announcements" section with "[NG]" in the subject heading.

NEHLPC owners I'll let you know as soon as we start taking player protection lists and/or team selections.
You automatically get the same team in the next gen league that you currently own in the PC league.
You are free to ask to go to a different team but if more than one owner wants the same team we will draw random numbers to determine who gets the selection.
Non NEHL members can sign up for any available team to check out their roster and decide if that team is for them or not. Once you have played a game with that team, or you have had control of that team through a "schedule advancement", that team is officially yours.
Please note Some players moves still need to be made so keep this in mind when selecting your team;
Rick Nash moves from LA to Colorado
Brian Gionta, Pajarvi and Ryan Whitney move to Colorado
Logan Couture moves from San Jose to Dallas
Khabibulin moves to Buffalo
D. Alfedsson moves to Tampa bay
Hejda moves to Islanders
After joining you must wait two weeks to make your first trade.
Any questions let me know,
